Biolet Deluxe composting toilet

DESCRIPTION

The BioLet NE is an on-site, self contained, biological toilet, where human waste and toilet paper are collected. Excess liquid is recycled through evaporation/transpiration and solid material is decomposed to a soil-like hygienically safe product (humus) without producing any unpleasant odor.

The BioLet NE uses no ELECTRICITY, WATER nor CHEMICALS and requires no hookup to sewer or septic. Just a simple installation of a vent pipe and drain tube and you're ready to go!

The BioLet NE utilizes the natural process of aerobic decomposition. Within a relatively short period of time, human waste and toilet paper are efficiently transformed into a small amount of fertile compost. The BioLet NE reduces the volume of the waste entering the toilet by approximately 90%, leaving only 10% of an end-product, which can be recycled back to NATURE in a safe way without polluting the environment.

OPERATION

Inside the BioLet NE are two composting containers. When the first container, under the seat, is filled, it is slid to the back of the toilet for further composting. The second container is now moved to the front. When this container is filled, it is time to dispose of the finished compost in the back container by trenching it into the soil, where the nutrients will be used for new plant growth.

Winter Use
Freezing temperatures will NOT damage the BioLet NE. Composting action decreases but increases quickly when the cottage is again heated. The drain pipe must be well insulated and installed below the frost line in the soil to prevent clogging of the drain.

MAINTENANCE

BioLet NE needs only a minimum of Maintenance:

  1. Simply add 1/2 cup of starter mulch after each fecal use.
  2. When both composting containers are filled, dispose of the humus in the back container by trenching it into the soil.

INSTALLATION

The BioLet Basic is easy to install!

Biolet composting toilet
Make a hole in the ceiling and roof for the ventilation pipe.

Push the outer pipe into the roof flashing and seal it carefully.

Make a hole in the floor or wall for the drain tube.

Push the drain tube through the hole made for it.

Empty the compost starter into the BioLet.

The BioLet NE is ready to be used.

Drainage System

The BioLet NE doesn't have an electric heater to assist the evaporation of excessive liquid so, it will not fully evaporate the total volume through the vent. Therefore, it's necessary to install a small drainage system unless the excess liquid can be drained into an existing septic or holding tank. An outdoor or indoor soil/planting bed will do or the excess liquid can be collected into a container and later be used to water and fertilize nitrogen-loving plants, or some other methods of disposal as described in the owners manual.

Dilute with 75% water before watering nitrogen-loving plants.

ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR LOCAL ENVIRONMENT HEALTH OFFICER BEFORE INSTALLING YOUR DRAINAGE SYSTEM!
