Q6 Can I use the BattPak with the iSun® set
to the 6V position to charge my batteries? The instructions say
to set the iSun® at 12V when charging my batteries.
Q7 Can I power my appliance with the BattPak
while I charge the batteries?
Q8 Can I charge my NiMH batteries and Ni-Cd batteries
together? How about charging AA & AAA batteries at the same
time?
Q1 What type of batteries can I charge?
The BattPak has been designed to charge AA or AAA rechargeable
batteries NiMH or Ni-Cd. Use only rechargeable batteries with the
BattPak. Other types of batteries, if used, may cause personal
injury and damage.
Q2 Why does the charger's green LED light up with one battery?
Although the charge light does appear with one battery, it does
not indicate charging. The BattPak has been designed to operate
with a minimum of 2 batteries.
Q3 How do I use the BattPak as a power source?
Since every electronic is slightly different, we recommend placing
batteries in the BattPak until the unit begins charging or
operating.
Q4 How long will it take to charge my batteries?
The total charge time will depend on the following factors: type
of rechargeable battery, the state of discharge of batteries, number
of batteries to charge and power source used to charge. Consult
the "Average Charging Times" chart on the bottom of the
unit for estimated times.
Q5 Why does it take less time to charge 10 batteries versus 2
batteries when using an AC outlet as a power source?
The BattPak has been optimized for charging 8 to 10 batteries.
Its innovative and versatile design permits you to charge different
amounts of batteries without increasing the required charging time.
This is also true when using the iSun® solar charger or a 12V
DC input with 2 or more batteries.
Q6 Can I use the BattPak with the iSun® set to the
6V position to charge my batteries? The instructions say to
set the iSun® at 12V when charging my batteries.
If charging 2 or 3 batteries, you can set the iSun® to the
6V position. This will cut the charging time in half. However, if
charging more than 3 batteries with the iSun® as a power source,
the iSun® should be set to the 12V position.
Q7 Can I power my appliance with the BattPak while I charge
the batteries?
No, you must first remove the power input (iSun®, AC or DC
input) before using the BattPak as a power source for your
devices.
Q8 Can I charge my NiMH batteries and Ni-Cd batteries together?
How about charging AA and AAA batteries at the same time?
No, NiMH and Ni-Cd batteries should not be charged together in
the BattPak. Nor should you charge AA and AAA batteries at
the same time. When charging your batteries with the BattPak,
you should always make sure they are all of the same type, size,
capacity and state of charge.
