Petromax products are known the world over as being the best,
brightest, most durable, and most fuel efficient products on
the market today. Using our new Stainless Steel Noozle, the
light is much brighter now!!
The first pressurized lantern, operating with kerosene gas,
was developed by Max & Adolf Graetz in Berlin, around 1910.
The brothers were appointed managing directors of the family
business "Ehrich & Graetz" in 1889. Besides the
development of gas and electric incandescent lights, and various
electrical appliances, this company has been engaged in the
construction of a power and reliable lantern. From their efforts
arose the brand "Petromax". The parts for these products
have not changed in over 80 years.
Petromax lanterns and stoves are capable of using a variety
of fuels kerosene, alcohol-based fuel (found at Wal-Mart &
other low-cost stores), mineral spirits, scented & unscented
lamp oils, Citronella (wards off pesky mosquitoes), gasoline,
diesel fuel, and just about every flammable fuel available on
the market.
Made of solid brass construction, these products are made to
withstand even the roughest terrains (of course, you don't want
to throw it off a cliff even a well-built truck can't handle
that); however, if you read the enclosed letter from the University
of South Florida, I think you'll get a good idea of how tough
these products can be.
Worried about changing parts, if you need to change fuels,
or if you need to empty the tank to add a different type of
fuel? Don't be. The generator system is not a throw-away, and
there is no packing inside the generator that will cause it
to stop up or clog up. You don't need to do anything special
to these products. Example if you're using kerosene, but your
supply is low, just pour whatever fuel you have available directly
into the tank. It doesn't hurt to mix the fuels, and it certainly
doesn't damage the product. (Generator is more commonly called
an "Upper Vaporizing Tube").
STOVES -- Solid brass base
construction, 10,000 btu (boils water really, REALLY fast),
adjustable, and collapsible. This stove has only two (2) replaceable
moving parts, and collapses to about 4" height & 9"
diameter. Easy to start, and also runs on multi-fuels. The tank
capacity is 1 quart, and bums approximately 3 - 4 hours at 10,000
btu.
