The TriStar-60 operates at 12 Volts to 48 Volts.
- Xantrex C60 only operates at
12V & 24 V
The TriStar has a much larger heatsink so it may be
used to its full "nameplate" rating up to 45° C
- Xantrex C40 & C60
have a very small heatsink, are only rated to 40° C, and should
be de-rated 20%. For example, the C40 "nameplate" rating
should be de-rated to 32A. So the TriStar 45 provides 40% more
current!
The TriStar has a 5-Year Warranty
- Xantrex C40, & C60 have only
a 2-Year warranty.

providing extensive information including bar graphs, 5 languages
and data logging of kilowatt hours and high/low voltage.
- Xantrax C40 & C60
meters have only 1 screen with limited information.
The TriStar has a self-test function, making it very
easy to troubleshoot. Both LED's and the meter indicate a total
of 10 different faults and alarms.

analog knob which is difficult to use.
The TriStar's code allowable wire size is larger (2
AWG/35mm^2) and has moree wire bending room.
- Xantrex C40 & C60 have
code allowable wire size of only 6 AWG and have very little wire
bending room.
The TriStar's printed circuit board is conformally
coated for protection against humidity and nesting insects.
- Xantrex does not have this protection
and should not be used in tropical or marine environments.
The TriStar comes standard with an RS-232 comm port
for custom setpoints, data logging and remote monitoring.
- Xantrex does not have an RS-232.
The TriStar provides these and many more advantages, fits on
a power panel, and the conduit knock-outs align with commonly
used DC disconnects. All of this.... for a very competitive price!!!
